Minority Chief Whip, Kwame Agbodza Governs, has cautioned persons intending to rig the December 2024 election to refrain from it.
The Adaklu MP who will not mention sanctions to be taken against such individuals stated that any such intent should be preceded with a last will and testament.
"You can even make yourself the IGP or the army commander but if you step foot in Volta Region in 2024 and attempt to rig the election by helping any one person I will not tell you what we will do but maybe write your will and everything before you come here," Mr. Agbodza said.
He was addressing members of the NDC at South Tongu as part of flagbearer, John Mahama's visit to the region.
He added "we shall not start any fight because of election but if anybody starts a fight we shall complete it".
The MP’s statement was hailed by the people with cheers.
The MP emphasized the people of the Volta Region are ready to protect the ballot in the upcoming elections.
On the processes adopted for the conduct of the District Assembly Election, Mr. Agbodza accused the Electoral Commission of perpetrating fraud in the election.
According to him, the failure to use indelible ink for the marking of voters is in breach of the C.I 127.
He points to regulations 33(2C) mandating the use of temporal marking on voters after casting their ballot.
"We promise you when Parliament resumes, your gallant minority side will take the necessary action against the Electoral Commission", he added.
He said the minority in parliament will ensure the indelible mark is used in the 2024 General Election to guard against double voting.
NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, also urged party members to select competent representatives at the polling stations.
