President Akufo-Addo is expected to present the State of the Nation Address (SONA) to Parliament on Tuesday, February 27, 2024.
Majority Leader and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu announced this on Tuesday, February 6 when Parliament reconvened.
The exercise falls under Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution, which mandates the President to address the nation through Parliament at the beginning of every session of Parliament.
The president is expected to use the platform to provide an update on the current state of security, governance, education, health, infrastructure and the fight against corruption amongst other issues of national interest.
Addressing the House, Mr. Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu said all "Honourable Members are entreated to avail themselves for the task ahead.”
