President Akufo-Addo has appointed Deputy Energy Minister, Herbert Krapa, as the new Chairman of the Board for the Electricity Company Ghana (ECG).
His appointment comes in the wake of Keli Gadzekpo's resignation as the board chairman of the power distribution company.
In his resignation letter addressed to President Akufo-Addo, Mr Gadzekpo cited personal reasons as the driving force behind his decision.

His resignation will become effective on Tuesday, April 9.
Mr. Gadzekpo expressed his best wishes to ECG and the government for their continued success in providing stable electricity for the country.
However, his resignation coincides with a challenging period for Ghana's energy sector, with the Electricity Company of Ghana facing scrutiny for inconsistent power supply.
Appointed to the board in 2017 by then Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko, Mr Gadzekpo was entrusted with a strategic role to ensure energy sufficiency.
