The Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association has charged Heart of Lions coach, Bashir Hayford, over alleged misconduct during their game against Bechem United last weekend.
The veteran coach interrupted play during his side's Ghana Premier League week 28 fixture against the Hunters because be felt the referee was biased.
Hayford, during the fixture at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park, made the headlines midway through the game as he took a seat in the middle of the pitch causing a reported 20-minute delay in play.
He later revealed that fans had poured urine on him that’s why he took the seat in the middle of the pitch.
“Bashir Kwaku Hayford has been charged with a breach of Section 34(6)(d) of the GFA Premier League Regulations, 2019 following Kpando Heart of Lions' Ghana Premier League game against Bechem United,” the GFA Disciplinary Committee said in a statement.
“It is alleged that his behaviour during the game constitutes misconduct that brings the name of the game into disrepute. He has until Monday May 06 2024 to respond to the charges.”
The game ended 1-1, with Heart of Lions taking the lead early on before the hosts equalised just before the interval.
Heart of Lions remain second from bottom on the league table with 29 points from 28 games.
