A delegation from the Kenyan Council of Governors, city managers, and technical experts has expressed satisfaction with Jospong Group's sanitation module.
The delegation was impressed by the environmentally friendly operations of the waste treatment facilities.
Speaking to the media after touring the Accra Composting and Recycling Plant and Sewage System Ghana Ltd., H.E Ahmed Abdullahi, County Governor and Vice Chairperson of the Council of Governors, commended Jospong Group for operating under international standards.
"The fact that this is being done by Ghanaians in a clean environment that doesn't disturb the environment and the people living around is very commendable," he observed.
The delegation is on a five-day business development mission to study Jospong Group's waste management services, following Kenyan President H.E. William Kipchirchir Samoei Arap Ruto's visit to Ghana in April.
The mission aims to foster knowledge sharing and collaboration between the two countries, aligning with the theme "Driving Investment and Intra-Africa Trade: The Ghana-Kenya Experience."
The delegation visited various facilities, including Zoomlion's Pantang Solid Waste Transfer Station, Accra Composting and Recycling Plant, JA Plantpool, and Sewage Systems Ghana Ltd. They will also visit integrated recycling and composting plants in Kumasi and other facilities to conclude their mission.
The Jospong-Kenyan Project Lead, Mr. Peter Dagadu, explained that the team is exploring business opportunities to enhance sanitation in Kenya, focusing on downstream sanitation management with value addition.
He added that the Jospong Team has already embarked on feasibility studies in Kenya, with encouraging results.
This business development mission demonstrates the Kenyan government's admiration for Jospong Group's contributions to Ghana's economy and its desire to replicate similar successes in Kenya
