Nigerian music star Wizkid has shared an emotional tribute to his late mother, Morayo, on her first posthumous birthday.
The award-winning artist took to social media platform X on Wednesday to express his deep sorrow and commemorate the special day, highlighting how much he missed her.
In a touching message, Wizkid wrote, “Happy birthday, love of my life! I miss you every day. The first one without you here feels unreal. Nothing makes sense without you, mama! Life is empty without you. Continue to watch over us! My heart is broken forever! Love you, love you, MORAYO mi. Your smile is a memory I will never forget. Your laugh! Your hugs and kisses. I miss you dearly!”
The star also shared, “MORAYO!! Best album I ever made!! Now listen! It’s only up from here!”
Recall Wizkid’s mother, Jane Dolapo, passed away in the early hours of Friday, August 18, 2023.
She was laid to rest on October 13, 2023, in an intimate church service held in Lagos, and attended by family members.
Morayo was seen as a pivotal figure in Wizkid’s life and career, often supporting her son by attending his concerts.
The singer described her as a massive support in his song “Joy,” underscoring her significant influence on his journey to becoming a global superstar.
