Gideon Boako, spokesperson for Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has encouraged Ghanaians to assess the vice-presidential candidates of the two main political parties based on their past accomplishments.
Dr Boako emphasised that evaluating their past achievements and performances would enable voters to make informed decisions.
The candidates in focus are Energy Minister Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, known as Napo, who's the running mate to Dr Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
On the opposing side is Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, an academic and former Education Minister, chosen as the running mate to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama.
Both Napo and Prof Opoku-Agyemang bring extensive experience from their tenures as Education Ministers.
Speaking in an interview with Citi FM on Thursday, July 4, Dr Boako stressed the importance of Ghanaians making a decisive choice in the December polls.
He urged voters to consider the candidates' track records in public service, which provide a clear indication of their capabilities and commitment to national development.
In his remarks, Dr Boako highlighted that the upcoming elections present an opportunity for citizens to critically evaluate the candidates' contributions to governance and public service.
He encouraged voters to look beyond party affiliations and focus on the practical impact of each candidate's past actions and policies.
“These are two leaders. Let us judge them based on what they have done before to believe or otherwise what they are saying they will do in future,” he urged.
