Black Queens goalkeeper, Cynthia Konlan Findib, has called on the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to set up more high-profile friendlies for the team ahead of their participation in the 2025 Women's Africa Cup of Nations.
The Black Queens sealed a ticket to play in this year's WAFCON which has now been rescheduled for 2025. Their return to the competition comes after missing the last two editions.
The Black Queens are set to face Japan this weekend in a friendly game which will serve as a preparatory game for the latter as well as an avenue for Nora Hauptle to assess her players ahead of the WAFCON.
Speaking to the media, Cynthia, who plays football for Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia, has called for more such games ahead of the tournament to be staged in Morocco.
"When we play against countries like Japan, Brazil and others that are ranked highly above us, it will give us more preparations ahead of the WAFCON," she said.
"I know the GFA are working towards [such games] which is good for us as Black Queens."
Ghana's game against Japan is scheduled for Saturday, July 7, at the Go Go Curry Stadium.
