Head coach of Saint-Étienne, Olivier Dall'Oglio, has hailed the talent of midfielder Augustine Boakye after completing a deal for the Ghanaian.
The Ligue 1 side announced the signing of the 23-year-old on a four-year deal with the option for an additional year.
Baokye joins the club from Austrian side Wolfsberger where he had been since Ghanaian side WAFA in 2021.
In 26 appearances during the 2023/24 season, the Ghanaian made a name for himself in the Austrian Bundesliga scoring 10 goals and providing 7 assists in the period.
Speaking following the completion of the deal, Dall'Oglio said: "Augustine is a very promising young player, capable of playing across the attack. He is a very lively left-hander, which is what we wanted to complete the squad."
"He is a profile that needs to be refined and comes from a different league to ours, but he is a great prospect. He speaks English, but also French, which will make his integration easier. I welcome him."
Boakye is expected to commence pre-season training with his new club who are making a return to the French top flight.
