The government, in collaboration with the Ministries of Finance and Trade and Industry and partnering agencies, will launch the SME Growth and Opportunity Programme at a summit on Tuesday, July 16, 2024.
This SME Programme focuses on enhancing coordination between partnering agencies to ensure the targeted delivery of financial and technical support to SMEs with high growth potential.
The summit, themed "Breaking Barriers to SME Growth," will gather approximately 150 selected participants from the private sector, academia, business regulatory and compliance institutions, media, industry, multilateral and bilateral partners, and financial service providers.
This initiative aims to foster a collaborative environment that addresses the challenges faced by SMEs and facilitates their growth and development.
The event will provide a platform for dialogue, networking, and the sharing of best practices among key stakeholders in the SME ecosystem.
The Minister for Finance, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam said, “the summit aims to enhance partnerships, mobilise diverse financial resources for SMEs growth and expansion and provide a platform for public and private sector actors to advocate inclusive policies and strategies required to foster SME growth in Ghana.”
President Akufo-Addo will launch the SME Growth and Opportunity Programme at the summit.
Other key speakers include Minister for Finance, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam, Minister for Trade and Industry, K.T. Hammond, Governor of the Central Bank of Ghana, Dr Ernest Addison, and President of the African Development Bank Group, Dr Akinwumi Adesina.
