After a four-day break from his northern regional tour, Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia returned to the campaign trail Sunday, to continue from where he paused in the north.
Dr. Bawumia took a four-day break and returned to Accra for official duties, and his return will see him cover the remaining constituencies in the north.
Dr. Bawumia, who started his northern campaign right after unveiling his running mate, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh early on this month, has so far toured about half of constituencies in engagements that have attracted milling crowds.

Dr. Bawumia has also been receiving the support and blessings of traditional rulers from various parts of the north in his bid to be elected as President.
On his return to the campaign trail Sunday in the Savannah Region, Dr. Bawumia is expected to storm Bole, home of his main contender, former President John Mahama.
Bawumia has so far attracted huge crowds in the Savannah Region, and traditionally, he enjoys mammoth reception in Bole from a growing number of NPP enthusiasts.
Bole used to be a completely safe ground for the National Democratic Congress, (NDC), where they win by landslide margins. Since the emergence of Dr. Bawumia however, the NDC's complete dominance has waned, despite former President Mahama being the NDC's candidate in the last three general elections.
