Samuel Koku Sitsofe Anyidoho, founder and President of the Atta Mills Institute, has expressed his elation over the recent commissioning of the China Phase II project at the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) in the Volta Region.
Anyidoho lauded the initiative, attributing its realization to the vision of his late mentor, Professor John Evans Atta Mills, who dreamed of establishing a health university in the region twelve years ago.
In his remarks, Anyidoho highlighted the significance of the China Phase II project in enhancing the educational infrastructure of UHAS. "This is a monumental step in fulfilling Professor Mills' vision of providing the Volta Region with a world-class health university. His dedication to giving the region a facelift through this initiative is commendable," he stated.
Anyidoho also extended his appreciation to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for his commitment to building on the legacy and efforts of the late former president. "President Akufo-Addo's support and dedication to the development of UHAS have been instrumental in bringing this vision to fruition. It is heartening to see the continuity of leadership and the emphasis on advancing education in the region," he added.
The founder of the Atta Mills Institute called on all stakeholders and residents of the Volta Region to come together and support UHAS in its quest to become the premier university in Africa. "It is our collective responsibility to ensure that UHAS achieves its full potential. With concerted efforts, we can make this university a beacon of excellence on the continent," Anyidoho urged.
The commissioning of the China Phase II project marks a significant milestone in the ongoing development of UHAS, further solidifying its status as a leading institution for health and allied sciences education in Ghana and beyond.
