Vice President and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has reinforced his commitment to improving the lives of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) by donating customized laptops and white canes to students at the University of Ghana, Legon.
The donation, made on his behalf by the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Lydia Seyram Alhassan, took place at the newly established Center for Disability Studies and Advocacy on campus.
During the event, the MP reiterated Dr. Bawumia’s promise to introduce free tertiary education for PWDs if elected President in the upcoming December 7 elections.
The free tertiary education for PWDs is a key component of the Bawumia campaign, which he says will bring about inclusivity.
Director of the Center for Disability Studies and Advocacy at the University of Ghana, Dr. Peter Ndaa, hailed the timeliness of the support and stressed that it will be put to good use.
