The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has officially launched a nationwide tour in preparation for the upcoming December elections.
The first phase of his five-day tour began in the Eastern Region, where he plans to visit 15 out of the 33 constituencies.
Kicking off his campaign in Adambrobe, located in the Akuapem South Constituency, Mr. Asiedu Nketiah addressed local chiefs and residents, promising to reclaim the parliamentary seat from the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He emphasised the importance of the constituency to the NDC and vowed to restore the party's influence in the region.
During his address, Mr. Asiedu Nketiah criticised the NPP for halting the Adamorobe road project, which had been initiated during the NDC's tenure before they left office in 2016.
He assured the people that an NDC government would ensure that the road construction resumes and is completed, while addressing the long-standing infrastructure concerns in the area.
In his remarks, the NDC Chairman also accused government officials of misappropriating state funds to bribe voters.
He condemned these actions and urged the electorate to accept any monetary gifts offered but to cast their votes based on the current economic situation and their personal experiences under the NPP government.
“When they bring the money, take it because it’s our taxes. We voted for them to use the taxes to develop the country, but if they deliberately use our taxes for their gains, take the money when they come."
“If they ask you to lay a curse, do it because it’s your own money. Take the money and vote for the NDC," he said.
