Nations FC secured their first win of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season in a thrilling encounter against Aduana FC at the Nana Agyeman Badu Park in Dormaa.
The Kassim Mingle-led side entered the match winless after two consecutive goalless draws against Bechem United and Young Apostles.
Nafiu Sulemana broke the deadlock for the visitors in the 27th minute. Despite Aduana’s efforts to equalise before half-time, Nations FC maintained their lead and went into the break 1-0 up.
Aduana FC came out strong in the second half, piling on the pressure in search of an equaliser. Their persistence paid off in the 75th minute when Kelvin Obeng headed in a stunning trivella pass from Gideon Boateng.
However, Nations FC regained the lead in the 89th minute through Faisal Charwetey, sealing a dramatic win and shocking Aduana FC on their home turf.
This defeat extends Aduana FC’s winless run to three games, leaving them 12th on the table with just two points from a possible nine. They will face Young Apostles next on 29 September 2024.
Meanwhile, Nations FC move up to 4th place with five points from three games. They will return to action on 28 September 2024 against Accra Hearts of Oak.
