The Vice President and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has acknowledged his belief in God's ways to make all things possible in the affairs of men.
At a surprise visit to the Breman Asikuma assembly of The Church of Pentecost during his campaign tour of the constituency on Sunday, Dr. Bawumia took inspiration from a verse in the Holy Bible, where Jesus Christ preaches the power of God to make all things possible.
"There are so many things men cannot do. But we believe God can do everything," Dr. Bawumia said.
"There is nothing God cannot do. As the Bible says in Mathew Chapter 19:26, Jesus said, for people, many things are not possible, but for God all things are possible," Dr. Bawumia told the congregation.
"So whatever we do, we have to put our faith and trust in God. Once we put our trust in God, things will go well," Dr. Bawumia said, reiterating his firm belief in God's ways.
While calling for prayers for a peaceful election to preserve the peace the country enjoys, he stressed that election is all about ideas to choose leaders, and the process should not be about insults and violence.
"We all want peace in our country. Election is not a fight or insults. It is all about expressing views and making choices and in the end, God's will shall prevail," he said.
"I request your prayers for the country for God to continue to preserve the peace we enjoy as a country. Without peace, there cannot be development. We are in politics because we are here to serve the nation so we pray to God to continue to grant our country peace."
"As we pray for the peace of this country, I also request for your prayers and support for me so that by the grace of God, the next time I come back here, I'll come as President of the Republic of Ghana, as I seek to serve our country."
