Basake Holy Stars ended their three-game losing streak with a 1-0 victory over Karela United at the Crosby Awuah Memorial (CAM) Park on Sunday in match week six of the Ghana Premier League.
Prince Opoku scored the only goal of the game with 12 minutes left, as the Pride and Passion lads left empty-handed on their return to Aiyinase, a place that used to be their stomping ground.
With the win, Holy Stars moved up to 12th with seven points from six games, after starting the day just one place above the drop zone.
Meanwhile, Karela United dropped to 14th with five points after suffering their third defeat of the season.
Basake Holy Stars will play away to Nsoatreman next weekend, while Karela will host Heart of Lions.
