The Accra Rehabilitation Centre received a significant boost with the handover of three newly renovated facilities, courtesy of the GRIDCo 2023/24 batch of National Service Personnel (NSP).
This project, part of GRIDCo’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, empowers NSPs to engage in impactful projects that give back to the community.

The handover ceremony, which took place on October 25, 2024, highlighted the team’s commitment and dedication.
The completed works include a renovated four-unit washroom facility, refurbished administrative office space. and an upgraded fashion and tailoring centre, now equipped with three industrial machines, 10 manual hand sewing machines, mannequins, and wall mirrors.


Representing GRIDCo’s Chief Executive and Management, Corporate Communications Manager Dzifa Bampoh commended the NSP.
She noted, “This project shows the positive impact young people can have on society with support and a shared commitment to giving back.”

She encouraged the centre’s beneficiaries and administrators to utilise and maintain the new facilities.


The NSPs’ project, conducted from August to October 2024, was funded by GRIDCo with additional contributions from the NSPs and other donors.


Speaking at the event, Rosabeth Avio, President of the 2023/24 NSP Group, expressed deep appreciation for the support received from GRIDCo and the Rehabilitation Centre.
She emphasised that the project offers “not just resources but hope and opportunity.”

Centre Manager Seth Dzidzornu, on behalf of the staff and students, thanked GRIDCo, noting that the upgraded washrooms address a long-standing need.

Nina Okorafor Efidy, Deputy Centre Manager of Academic and Counselling, shared her personal appreciation, highlighting the accessibility improvements for individuals with disabilities.

The NSPs also read out citations to honour GRIDCo leaders, particularly recognising Ruth Abanga, GRIDCo’s CSR Officer, for her unwavering dedication to the project’s success.

This collaborative effort marks a meaningful step in supporting the Accra Rehabilitation Centre and its mission to empower its students.
