The wife of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Vice Presidential candidate, Alma Pokua Adade-Prempeh, has reassured traditional authorities of the NPP’s commitment to building a stronger partnership with them under Dr. Bawumia-led government.

During a recent visit to Bortianor Ngleshie Amanfro, Mrs Adade-Prempeh, accompanied by the constituency’s Member of Parliament, Sylvester Tetteh, and other NPP stalwarts, met with seven divisional chiefs, queen mothers, and chief priests (Wolomei).

She emphasised the party’s vision for governance rooted in collaboration and community-led development.

Mrs Adade-Prempeh expressed deep respect for traditional rulers as custodians of Ghanaian heritage and highlighted their unique role as unifying figures within communities.

“Our traditional rulers are important pillars in our society,” she affirmed, “and must be supported in every possible way to impact positively on the lives of our people.”

She noted that this partnership is central to the NPP’s governance approach under Dr. Bawumia, aiming to integrate traditional leadership in decisions that affect local communities.

She assured traditional leaders that a Dr Bawumia administration would continue to enhance the role of chiefs and other traditional authorities.

“Efficient and effective governance requires that we honour and support those at the heart of our communities,” she added.

She pledged that under a Bawumia presidency, traditional authorities would play a clear role in guiding local development and building resilient communities.

Mrs Adade-Prempeh and her delegation also engaged with thousands of fisherfolk in the constituency, presenting the NPP’s commitments to the fishing industry and related support initiatives.

To support the fishing community, she discussed provisions within the NPP manifesto focused on sustainable fishing practices, resource allocation, and access to financial and technical resources.

She emphasized the NPP’s commitment to ensuring a thriving fishing industry that contributes to the local economy.

“We know that for Ghana to prosper, every community must be empowered to flourish,” she told the gathering, acknowledging the critical role of fisherfolk in the national economy.

Mrs Adade-Prempeh distributed NPP-branded items to the fisherfolk, expressing appreciation for their hard work and resilience while underscoring the party’s dedication to community-driven development.
