The Ankobeahene of Akyem-Boadua in the Akwatia constituency, Nana Barfuor Annor, has urged the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to intensify their efforts to ensure that John Dramani Mahama returns as the President of Ghana.

He likened Mahama's potential comeback to that of former US President Donald Trump, emphasising that the party must engage at the grassroots level and campaign vigorously.

Nana Barfuor Annor expressed confidence that President Mahama would secure a significant victory, but he cautioned the NDC against complacency. He noted, "The recent American election situation is similar to that of Mahama.

Before the American election, they said it was too close to call, but at the end, it was 226 against 312—a very wide margin, all due to hard work. So today, if we are praying for Mahama to come to power, we plead with the leaders of his campaign to work hard to bring Mahama back."

The Ankobeahene also called on residents of Boadua to rally behind John Mahama, urging them to support and vote for his return to power to continue the various developmental projects and policies he initiated before his defeat in 2016. He highlighted Mahama's qualities, saying,

"The reason why I like the man [Mahama] is his resilience, courage, and perseverance. He never gets discouraged. He could have been resting after losing the elections, but for the love of Ghana, he is seeking re-election. I urge the people of Boadua to support and vote for Mahama."

The Chief's comments were made during a campaign rally attended by the Director of Elections and IT for the NDC, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, who is currently on a five-day tour of the Eastern Region.

Addressing the crowd, Dr Omane Boamah stated that John Dramani Mahama is poised to win the December 7 election, with plans to implement policies such as a 24-hour economy, a youth apprenticeship programme, stress-free admissions into tertiary institutions, and resetting the country to boost economic growth and prosperity for all.

He also criticised the Akufo-Addo and Bawumia-led government for neglecting roads in the area, allowing them to deteriorate.

Meanwhile, the Member of Parliament for Akwatia, Henry Boakye Yiadom, provided an overview of his achievements in the fields of health, education, employment, youth engagement, and community development, seeking support for his re-election.
