Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has commended Vice President and NPP Presidential Candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, for displaying commendable conduct and unifying qualities over the years.
In an exclusive interview with Asempa FM, the esteemed former President shared his observations of Dr Bawumia’s behaviour, describing him as a "unifier" and highlighting how this characteristic is beneficial for the nation. "I have observed his good conduct. He is not divisive," said the former President.
"Everyone knows he is a Muslim, but he has an excellent relationship with Christians. This is very important because, in this country, many attempt to use religion to create division," he added. "He is also a Northerner, yet he gets along so well with everyone."
The former President, who is credited with recognising Dr Bawumia’s potential and bringing him into the Central Bank, spoke highly of the Vice President. He expressed his confidence in Dr Bawumia’s ability to transform Ghana as President.
Rallying support for the NPP candidate, Kufuor emphasised that Dr Bawumia has demonstrated a clear understanding of what is required from a modern leader to bring about national transformation, particularly through his strong focus on technology and digitalisation, which he noted are essential in all areas of governance and economic development.
