President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has reaffirmed his administration's achievements in infrastructure, asserting that his government has constructed more roads and interchanges than any previous administration in Ghana’s history.
Speaking at the commissioning of the Flower Pot Interchange in Accra on Tuesday, 19 November 2024, President Akufo-Addo highlighted his government’s commitment to enhancing the nation’s infrastructure network.
“This project is just one of many,” he remarked. “From the Northern Savannah to the southern coastline, and from east to west, we are building a new Ghana. A Ghana where roads, bridges, schools, and hospitals stand as symbols of a nation that works for everyone.”
The President stated that his administration has built more roads and interchanges than any other in the country's history, pointing to the wide-ranging scope of completed projects.
He specifically noted the significant developments in the Greater Accra Region as evidence of his government’s efforts.
“In the Greater Accra Region alone, we have successfully completed projects such as the Pokuase Interchange, the Tema Motorway Interchange Phase I, the Obetsebi Lamptey Interchange Phase I, the East Legon Underpass, and now, the Flower Pot Interchange,” he detailed.
The President emphasized that his administration’s efforts extended beyond the capital. He drew attention to major infrastructure projects underway and completed in other regions, aimed at connecting the entire nation.
“Beyond Accra, we have also delivered the first-ever interchanges in the Eastern Region at Suhum, and in the Northern Region at Tamale,” President Akufo-Addo highlighted. “Each of these projects speaks to our commitment to a Ghana that is continually advancing.”
