The Ghana Police Service has apprehended eight individuals for allegedly attacking the Metro Mass Transit workshop in Sunyani, Bono Region.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Police reported that the arrests were made on Monday, December 9, following an unlawful entry into the workshop premises.
The suspects reportedly attacked and threatened workers, forcing them to vacate their offices.
The suspects have been identified as Issakah Taufiq, Abudu Isaiah, Abdul Latif Mohammed, Mohammed Azandoro, Alhassan Issah, Amadu Mohammed, Abdulai Adams, and Abdulai Ibrahim.
According to the statement, the Police Rapid Response Team in the area acted promptly after receiving a distress call from the workshop, leading to the swift arrest of the suspects.
The Police further disclosed that this brings the total number of suspects arrested in connection with attacks, looting, and property destruction to 97.
The eight suspects are currently in custody and undergoing investigative procedures.
The Police assured the public of their commitment, along with other security agencies, to maintaining peace and security within communities across the country.
