The leader of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, is set to be inaugurated for his second term as President of the Republic of Ghana.
The swearing-in ceremony is taking place at the Black Star Square in Accra, a venue of great national significance for the country’s most momentous events.
This occasion follows Mahama’s decisive victory in the general elections held on 7 December 2024, where he secured a commanding mandate from the electorate.
The event has attracted a wide range of international dignitaries, including heads of state, diplomats, and representatives from various global organizations.
The Vice President-elect, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang is also taking the oath of allegiance and the oath of Vice President.
She's making history as Ghana's first female Vice president.
