The Ghana Police Service has expressed gratitude to the general public for their understanding and cooperation during the swearing-in ceremony of President John Dramani Mahama and Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.
In a statement, the Police particularly acknowledged the patience of the motoring public, who adhered to temporary road closures and traffic diversions in Accra to ensure the smooth conduct of the historic event.
“The Ghana Police Service sincerely commends the general public for their understanding and cooperation with the Police during the swearing-in of the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, and Vice President, Her Excellency Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang,” the statement read.
The Police reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining peace, security, and law and order across the country and called on the public to continue supporting their efforts in these areas.
The inauguration, which marked a significant milestone in Ghana’s democratic journey, proceeded without major incidents, thanks in part to the collaboration between the Police and citizens.
