Chaos erupted in Ejura in the Ashanti Region as a group of irate youth stormed the local police station.

The agitated group freed suspects on remand and set the facility ablaze.
The situation took place after the police informed the youth that their colleague who had been recently arrested had died in custody.

This was confirmed by the Assemblyman for Ahenbobouanor, Samuel Kudjoe Kwa-Sam.
He explained that the suspect who had been accused of phone theft had reported himself to the police and promised to return this morning to assist with the investigation.

But he was detained after which he passed on, the Assemblyman told JoyNews.
The incident saw the crowd overpower law enforcement officers, vandalising property before igniting the station.
