Some thugs are allegedly operating under the order of Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL) and have destroyed the walls of a piece of land near the Shiashie bus stop in Accra.
Following the development, the regent of Okponglo, Nii Sowah Ako-Odoi III, has issued a strong warning to individuals vandalising properties under the guise of reclaiming state lands in the name of ORAL.
He cautioned such individuals to cease targeting Okponglo lands in the Greater Accra Region.
The incident happened on Monday, January 13, when the thugs allegedly destroyed both concrete and wooden walls surrounding the land.
Nii Ako-Odoi emphasised that any further attempts to seize the property would not be tolerated, citing a Supreme Court ruling that confirms the land’s private ownership.
According to reports, ORAL, led by the Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has begun operations, touring various lands in the national capital that they suspect were illegally acquired by politically exposed persons from the previous government.
