A 35-year-old man has “butchered” his six-year-old son to death at Antwiriifo near Dormaa-Ahenkro in the Bono Region.
The man was subsequently gunned down by a Customs Officer when he tried to escape.
A Police brief has said that Police on January 15, 2025, received information that the man, whose identity was not readily available, had inflicted multiple cutlass wounds on the boy, leading to his death.
Police did not indicate the reasons for the man’s action.
The District Police Command on receipt of the information went to the scene where they found the bodies of both the victim and the suspect at the scene.
Police will dispatch investigators to the scene for further probe, the statement said.
