Malawi has reaffirmed its unwavering support for Morocco’s territorial integrity and sovereignty over its entire territory, including the Moroccan Sahara.
This stance was reiterated on Thursday in Rabat through a joint statement issued following discussions between Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, and Malawi’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nancy Tembo.
In the statement, Minister Tembo expressed Malawi’s appreciation for the growing international support and momentum driven by King Mohammed VI in favour of the Moroccan Autonomy Plan.
She described the plan as the only credible, serious, and realistic solution to the regional dispute.
Furthermore, the statement commended the United Nations for its ongoing efforts, recognizing it as the exclusive framework for achieving a realistic, practical, and lasting resolution to the Sahara issue.
