Acting Spokesperson to President John Dramani Mahama, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has lauded the President's inclusive approach to governance, contrasting it sharply with the leadership style of former President Nana Akufo-Addo.
Mr Kwakye Ofosu referred to the appointments of H. Kwasi Prempeh of the Centre for Democratic Development Ghana (CDD-Ghana) and Nana Yaa Gyantuah, a former General Secretary of the Convention People's Party (CPP).
According to Mr Kwakye Ofosu, President Mahama's decision to appoint these persons to his government demonstrates his maturity and commitment to fostering diverse perspectives.
Speaking on JoyFM's Super Morning Show on Tuesday, January 21, Mr Ofosu Kwakye stated that the inclusive nature of President Mahama's administration is a testament to his confidence and dedication to national unity.
“President Mahama has shown that he prioritises the nation's interests over personal comfort by appointing individuals who may not always agree with him. This level of tolerance is unparalleled,” he remarked.
He went on to critique former President Akufo-Addo, suggesting that such an inclusive approach would have been unthinkable under his administration. “Nana Akufo-Addo would never appoint critics to his government.
His administration was characterised by an unwillingness to engage with dissenting voices, which weakened the governance process,” Ofosu Kwakye asserted.
The acting spokesperson further underscored the benefits of President Mahama's approach, noting that the inclusion of diverse views enriches policy-making and ensures a broader representation of the Ghanaian populace.
“This is the kind of leadership that strengthens democracy—one where critics are given a seat at the table to contribute meaningfully to national development,” he concluded.
