The Kaneshie District Court One has granted a GH¢70,000 bail with two sureties to a driver who knocked down a pedestrian resulting in his death.
The plea of Eric Arko was not taken. He will reappear on March 19, 2025.
Police Chief Inspector Achana Apewah, who led the prosecution team, told the court that on February 13, 2025, at about 2300 hours, Arko was in charge of a Mercedes Benz when he knocked Eric Kwame Anane Darko, 54, from Odorkor to Kasoa.
Prosecution said Darko sustained injuries and he was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
His counsel, in praying for bail, said Arko had a fixed place of abode and would avail himself for investigation.
He also had people of substance to stand as sureties and would assist the family of the deceased in his burial arrangements.
