The President of Breast Care International (BCI), Dr. Beatrice Wiafe-Addai, has encouraged women to reach out for support when facing social difficulties. She said that asking for help is a demonstration of strength, not a weakness.
Dr. Wiafe-Addai made these remarks during the celebration of International Women's Day with clients at the Peace and Love Hospital at Oduom in the Ashanti region on Saturday.

Dr. Wiafe-Addai’s message is especially important considering the many challenges women encounter daily, such as health problems, domestic violence, and economic empowerment.
Women should not endure hardships in silence, Dr. Wiafe-Addai said. “Women should not suffer in silence. There are people and organizations willing to help, and it is okay to ask for assistance.”

Speaking on the theme “Accelerate Action,” she also urged global efforts to eliminate the harmful actions committed against women worldwide. Public policy initiatives aimed at advancing the well-being of women must be strongly supported, and the campaign against abuse should be consistent, not sporadic, she added.
She also encouraged women everywhere to speak out against the unjust global economic system, which is heavily biased in favor of men, despite women being the majority. She stated that women are often burdened with managing households and raising children, frequently under financially strained conditions.

As a prominent breast cancer specialist, Dr. Wiafe-Addai has committed her career to advancing women’s health and well-being. Her leadership and expertise have had a profound impact in Ghana and internationally.
International Women’s Day serves as a global celebration of women’s achievements and a call to action for advancing women’s equality.
