The 2024 Bawumia Campaign Team's Director of Communications, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has clarified that he has no interest in any executive position within the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
In an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, he said that despite his challenges, he is not leaving the party over the actions of a few individuals.
“I am not interested in any position. All the positions I’ve ever had in the party, I never lobbied for. I have always done my work without the desire for any position,” he said.
Mr. Aboagye made it clear that he has no plans to run for any elected position, whether it be as a Member of Parliament or for any regional or national executive role.
“Even if I’m called to sweep the party office, I will do it gladly,” he said, urging party members not to harbor ill feelings toward him.
He went on to explain, “We have a party to build, and we need to focus on that. When they call me for any job, I will do it. I don’t want any executive position in the party, and I will not leave the party because of five people who dislike me.”
Mr. Aboagye also reflected on his past contributions, stating that he has held various positions within the party and has always been committed to its success.
“I’ve done a lot for the party. If they want to blame me for the party’s defeat, I will gladly take it. I won’t blame anyone else.”
He reiterated his dedication to the party’s victory, saying, “I won’t put my selfish interests ahead of the party. Whatever I want, I will get when the party wins. I am not ready to lead any campaign to bring the party down.”
Mr. Aboagye’s remarks come as he addresses ongoing tensions within the party, calling for unity and focus on the party’s future success.
