Assin South MP Rev. John Ntim Fordjour has thanked former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for his solidarity following what he described as a politically motivated act of harassment.
On Wednesday, April 9, operatives from the National Investigations Bureau reportedly stormed the residence of the Ranking Member on Parliament’s Defence and Interior Committee, in an incident he claims was an attempt to intimidate him.

The operation, however, was thwarted by members of the minority New Patriotic Party (NPP), who intervened to prevent the raid.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Fordjour accused the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government of targeting opposition lawmakers in an effort to suppress their oversight duties.

“Thank you very much HE Dr Mahamudu Bawumia @MBawumia for the visit to my residence this evening following the politically-motivated lawless act of harassment in the attempt of the NDC government to gag MPs from exercising their legitimate oversight,” he wrote.
The MP’s remarks add to growing concerns over alleged political intimidation ahead of the upcoming elections.
