The Regional Director of the Chartered Institute of Local Governance and Development, Felix Mensah Nii Anang-La, is calling on alumni of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) to step up and support the growth and sustainability of the institution.
Speaking at a GIMPA alumni gathering in Accra, Mr. Anang-La — who is also a former Chief Executive of the Tema Metropolitan Assembly — praised the institute for its crucial role in nurturing Ghana’s leadership over the years.
“GIMPA has trained over 64 Members of Parliament, countless ministers, deputy ministers, and chief executives,” he noted. “That’s not just impressive — it’s a legacy worth protecting and investing in.”
The former National President of the National Association of Local Authorities of Ghana (NALAG) believes GIMPA’s future depends largely on the strength and commitment of its alumni network.
“This is a call to action. We have the numbers, the influence, and the capacity. It’s time to move from pride to partnership,” he charged.
Mr. Anang-La emphasised the importance of mentoring, supporting institutional initiatives, and contributing to infrastructure and endowment projects.
Also present at the event was. Abraham Dela Newman, Sales Manager at SIC Life, who urged alumni to embrace insurance as a critical safety net for life’s uncertainties.
He introduced the GIMPA Alumni Welfare Plan, a tailored insurance package offering support during bereavement, accidents, and hospitalization.
Mr. Newman praised SIC Life’s Managing Director, Ing. Esq. Solomon Twum Barimah, for his visionary leadership, saying the company continues to serve as a cornerstone of financial security in Ghana.
