The Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF), Dr Saajida Shiraz, has announced that the Fund has disbursed student loans to an additional 5,667 tertiary students for the 2024/2025 academic year.
According to Dr Shiraz, this latest round of financial support brings the total number of beneficiaries for the academic year to 31,659 students.
These students are drawn from 130 public and private tertiary institutions across the country, reflecting the Fund's wide-reaching impact.
In a post shared on Facebook on Friday, May 9, Dr Shiraz reaffirmed the SLTF’s commitment to easing financial pressures on students.
“As we work to implement the No-Fees-Stress policy, we remain committed to providing financial support to continuing students,” she wrote.
The “No-Fees-Stress” policy forms part of a broader government initiative aimed at ensuring access to higher education is not hindered by financial hardship.
