U-20 World Cup winner Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has described Jerry Afriyie as a “different player” and expressed confidence in his ability to lead Ghana to victory over Egypt at the ongoing U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.
Afriyie, who was instrumental in Black Satellites' progress to the knockout stage, missed the last game against the Central African Republic after returning to his club, CD Lugo, following an agreement between the Ghana Football Association and the Spanish side.
However, the forward has returned to camp and is ready to feature for the Black Satellites in a crucial quarterfinal clash against the hosts on Monday, with World Cup qualification at stake.
"He [Afriyie] is our talisman," Agyemang-Badu told 3Sports.
"He has the experience [having] played for the Black Stars so when he goes there [Black Satellites], you see he is a different player.
"It is very good to have some players like this in your team and we thank the FA, his club [CD Lugo] for allowing to come and help us. He will score for us and we are going to qualify."
The Satellites hope to qualify for the World Cup for the first time since 2015.
