On Saturday, 3rd May, 2025, the 2005 Year Group of the Accra Academy Old Boys’ Association (AAOBA) officially launched their 20th Anniversary celebration with the announcement of the construction of a transformative Fabrication Laboratory (FAB LAB) valued at USD67,000 as its project for their alma mater.
During a commemorative ceremony held at the assembly hall of the school, the group revealed that construction of the state-of-the-art facility will commence immediately, with completion expected by October 2025.
The project will be fully funded by oil marketing company JP Trustees Limited and its sister companies (Juwel Energy Limited and Juni Ghana Limited), owned by Bleoobi John Osei-Wusu, a member of the Bleoo 2000 Year Group.
"Life has treated us all differently since we parted ways as students over the past 20 years, but we have all been guided by one of our school's mottos, 'non scholae sed vitae discimus' which translates to 'WE LEARN NOT FOR SCHOOL, BUT FOR LIFE'. As we have gathered here today to launch the celebration of our 20th Anniversary, we are proud to give back to our beloved school through this initiative that will empower the next generation" said the year group's president Bleoobi Abass Ibrahim Tasunti.

The FAB LAB aims to transform STEM education and equip both students and teachers with essential digital skills while fostering innovation. The cutting-edge facility will feature:
- 3D Printing and Prototyping Equipment
- Robotics and Automation Tools
- Computer-aided design workstations
- Digital Fabrication Resources
It is expected to train over 500 students annually in digital skills and STEM education, while also equipping approximately 30 teachers with advanced teaching methodologies.
The anniversary launch was attended by members of the 2005 Year Group of the AAOBA, representatives from the 2003, 2004, 2006 and 2007 Year Groups of AAOBA, the 2005 Year Group of St. Mary’s Old Girls Association (SMOGA 2005), the 2005 Year Group https://www.meridianpint.com/touchless-menu/ of Accra Girls Old Student Association (AGOSA 2005), and the 2005 Year Group of the St. Augustine’s Past Students Union (APSU 2005). Addressing the attendees, the Accra Academy Old Boys’ Association (AAOBA) President Mr. Joseph Amoa-Awuah wished the year group a successful anniversary, and encouraged the group to foster unity amongst members to bring onboard innovative ideas that will transform the lives of the young ones.
The Bleoo 2005 Year Group also paid tribute to its departed classmates with the observation of a moment of silence.
The 20th anniversary celebration will include other activities to be announced in the coming weeks, including potential inter-school sporting events.
