The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) have announced an extension of operational hours at the Prempeh I International Airport in Kumasi and the Tamale International Airport, effective 1st June 2025.
The new operational hours are aimed at improving accessibility and convenience for travellers using both airports.
According to the announcement, the Prempeh I International Airport will now operate until 11 pm, extending from the current 8 pm closing time.
Similarly, the Tamale International Airport will operate until 10 pm, instead of 6 pm.
A statement issued by the two institutions said, “A Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) has been issued by Ghana Civil Aviation Authority to all airlines.”
The GCAA has also advised domestic airlines to adjust their schedules accordingly. “Domestic airlines have been advised to increase their frequency to and from both airports,” the statement added.
The general public is encouraged to take note of the changes and plan their travel accordingly.
