Manchester United have announced the signing of Brazilian forward Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The 26-year-old becomes Man Utd's first arrival of the summer as Ruben Amorim begins reshaping his squad. An announcement from Man Utd says the "signing is subject to visa and registration".
Cunha scored 15 goals last season, also contributing six assists, to help Wolves pull away from Premier League relegation trouble.
Man Utd will head to the USA for this year’s Summer Series. The tour runs from 26 July to 3 August and kicks off with a fixture against West Ham United at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
The forward is no stranger to Premier League fans after three seasons in England.
Born in the Brazilian city of Joao Pessoa in May 1999, Cunha developed a love of the game through futsal before switching to football.
His first big career step came in 2017, signing for Swiss club Sion. Cunha's 10 goals and eight assists in only 32 appearances alerted Bundesliga club RB Leipzig, whom he joined after one season in Switzerland.
Cunha gained valuable UEFA Champions League experience in Germany - and also a nomination for the FIFA Puskas Award following an incredible solo goal against Bayer Leverkusen.
He moved to Hertha Berlin and, in August 2021 joined Atletico Madrid, but found goals in Spain hard to come by.
A loan move to Wolves followed in January 2023, in an agreement where the transfer would become permanent that summer.
He scored twice in that half-season, before going on to register another 12 Premier League goals in 2023/24.
But it was in this most recent campaign where he posted career-best stats, registering 21 goal contributions to attract the attention of many top clubs.
