Joyce Bawah Mogtari, Senior Presidential Advisor and aide to former President John Dramani Mahama, has urged Ghanaians to remain hopeful in the face of current economic challenges.
In a message shared via her social media pages on Tuesday, 3rd June, she acknowledged the frustrations of many citizens but reaffirmed her confidence in the work being done by the current administration.
“It is obvious that sometimes we are all struggling, looking for just little opportunities and so we get frustrated with ourselves and with the system,” she wrote.
Sharing a personal encounter to underscore the realities on the ground, Madam Bawah Mogtari noted, “I met a 35-year-old gentleman with three degrees and is struggling to secure a job.”
The anecdote, she said, reflects the deep challenges within the job market, even for highly educated individuals. She acknowledged that the situation “is not easy” but urged the public to be patient and hopeful.
“Trust me, very soon each one of us will earn a decent living,” she assured, adding that the current difficulties should be viewed in light of the ongoing efforts by the government. “Considering the work and commitment shown by this government,” she concluded, “better days are indeed ahead.”
