The Constitution Review Committee (CRC), under the directive of President John Dramani Mahama, has announced plans to begin a nationwide series of zonal public engagements aimed at gathering citizen input on reforms to the 1992 Constitution.
In a statement issued on Monday, June 10, the CRC stated that the engagements are a key part of its mandate to ensure broad public participation in the constitutional review process.
The Committee stated that the 1992 Constitution belongs to all Ghanaians and that the voices of citizens are vital in shaping the country’s democratic future.
“We encourage all citizens, community leaders, civil society organisations, traditional authorities, youth groups, and other stakeholders to participate actively in the upcoming engagements,” the statement said.
The CRC added that specific details, including venues and dates, will be shared in the coming days through official media channels.
In the meantime, Ghanaians are encouraged to send written submissions to submissions@constitutionreviewgh.org.
The Committee reiterated its commitment to building a Constitution that reflects the shared values and aspirations of the Ghanaian people and supports the future development of the nation.
