Okaikwei Central MP, Patrick Yaw Boamah, has pleaded with former Presidents John Agyekum Kufuor and Nana Akufo-Addo to step in and help stabilise the NPP as it grapples with deepening internal tensions.
He believes their intervention is crucial to restoring order and unity within the party.
His appeal comes amid growing reports of infighting and factionalism within the NPP, particularly in the lead-up to its presidential primaries scheduled for January 2026.
The MP warned that the current state of discord could further erode the party’s cohesion if not addressed swiftly and decisively.
In an interview on Channel One TV on Monday, June 23, Mr Boamah stressed the significance of the two former leaders, both of whom have led the party to electoral victory, in offering guidance at this critical moment.
“This party has produced two presidents. We are fortunate to have two former presidents alive,” he said.
“I am calling them to call for some action and order in the party because this party produced them. If we are going through this turmoil, we ask that they call people around the table and have a heart-to-heart chat with them,” he added.
