The University of Ghana is set to launch the UG-Nkabom Collaborative, a major initiative aimed at empowering Ghanaian youth through education, innovation, and career development in nutrition and sustainable food systems.
The launch event is scheduled for Monday, July 28, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. at the Great Hall of the University. It will bring together stakeholders from academia, industry, civil society, and the public and private sectors to discuss and commit to strategies that will shape the future of Ghana’s agrifood ecosystem.
The UG-Nkabom Collaborative is a joint partnership between the University of Ghana, McGill University, the Mastercard Foundation, and six other institutions in Ghana. The initiative seeks to expand access to education and innovation for Ghanaian youth, especially women, persons with disabilities, and internally displaced persons.
The launch will be held under the theme: “Empowering Youth for a Sustainable Agrifood Revolution in Ghana and Beyond.” It is expected to spark impactful conversations around youth-led transformation in agriculture and food systems, with a focus on leveraging technology and inclusive education.
The event will also unveil a new seminar series titled: “From Soil to Success: Cultivating Profitable Futures for Ghanaian Youth through Digital Agritech.”
Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana, will chair the occasion, with keynote remarks delivered by Prof. Anna Lartey from the Department of Nutrition. Mr. Pierre Brunache, Country Director of the Nkabom Collaborative, will serve as the guest speaker.
JOYNEWS has been invited to cover the event as a media partner, in recognition of its strong editorial reach and commitment to promoting national conversations around youth development, education, and innovation.
