Mexico’s Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Norma Ang Sánchez, met with National Sports Authority (NSA) Director General Yaw Ampofo Ankrah on Monday, July 14, 2025, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The visit highlighted efforts to strengthen collaboration between Mexico and Ghana through sports and cultural exchange.
“We share a lot in common with Mexico, the people, the culture, sports obviously, especially boxing and football,” Director General Ankrah said.
“When Her Excellency reached out to the NSA to have talks as it were, we decided to open our arms and gratefully invited her and she accepted to come and visit us here which is also an honour to have an ambassador coming through from her place of convenience to the Accra Sports Stadium.”
Conversations focused on deepening bilateral relations in sports development, particularly boxing and football, as Ambassador Ang was shown around the stadium.
Both parties expressed interest in sustainable infrastructure as well.
