Four suspects have been arrested while 10 marijuana (wee) ghettos have been destroyed by police in the Agona Swedru in the Central Region.
The operation, led by the Agona Swedru District Police Commander, ASP Vida Yenkey; and the District Crime Officer, ASP Erica Naab; in the Agona West Municipality, was themed: "Operation.
Burn all ghettos in the Agona West municipality of the Central Region.
ASP Vida Yenkey revealed that the motive behind the operation is to stop youth from drug abuse.
At the end of the operation, four persons were arrested, including one female and three men who are currently in police custody.
ASP Vida Yenkey, who spoke to Adom TV off camera, urged stakeholders and opinion leaders in Agona Swedru to support the police in clamping down on all wee dens in the municipality.
She said the Agona Swedru District police is committed to fighting illicit drugs and other criminal activities in the municipality.
She said interference from the traditional leaders, assembly members, and other opinion leaders has become a major hindrance to their work as police.
