Team Ghana has began camping in Texas ahead of the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo.
An all-sprinter team comprised of Ghana's fastest men in 2025, arrived in Texas on Sunday for the fortnight-long camp ahead of the World Athletics Championships.
The team is led by Abdul Rasheed-Saminu, who run 9.86s in May to become Ghana's fastest runner over 100m in history.
In July, he shaved off 0.02 seconds at Power Springs to record 9.84 (+1.5).
Ever-present Benjamin Azamati's 9.98s (+1.2) at Sherman Oaks makes him another exciting name for Team Ghana. He will however join camp after his August 18 competition in Europe.
Ibrahim Fuseini, Barnabas Aggerh, Mustapha Bokpin and Isaac Botsio complete the list of sprinters in camp.
The seven in camp have run Ghana's fastest times over 100 meters in 2025.
Benjamin Azamati – 9.98s (+1.2) – Sherman Oaks, CA – May 22
Abdul-Rasheed Saminu – 9.84s (+1.5) – Powder Springs, GA – Jul 19

The team will camp and train at the Texas A&M University, under the guidance of coach George Pincock, head track and field coach of the University.

The team, comprising Joseph Paul Amoah, Sean Safo-Antwi, Fuseini Ibrahim, Barnabas Aggerh, and Mustapha Alufu Bokpin, secured their spot after finishing second in their heat at the World Athletics Relays in Guangzhou, China.
