A Nigerian national in his late 30s has been detained by the Awutu District Police Command for allegedly defiling a 15-year-old girl at Gomoa Nkwantanan Teachers’ City in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.
Reports indicate that the suspect attacked the victim while she was returning from school with her younger sister.
In an interview, the victim’s mother, Cecilia Krampa, stated that the suspect assaulted her daughter and her sister, but the younger sibling managed to escape.
According to Krampa, the younger girl hurried to seek help for her sister, but the suspect fled the scene before she could return with an okada rider.
The Assembly Member for the Buduburam-Nkwantanan Electoral Area, Emmanuel Dogbe, confirmed that the suspect was apprehended following a formal complaint.
