Former Assin Central MP and New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential hopeful, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, will officially submit his nomination forms for the party’s 2026 presidential primaries on Monday, August 27, 2025, at the NPP headquarters in Accra.
This was confirmed by Nhyiaeso MP and a key member of his campaign team, Stephen Amoah, who disclosed that Mr Agyapong will personally lead his team to file the forms.
Mr Agyapong became the first aspirant to pick up nomination forms for the January 31, 2026 primaries after a group of NPP MPs, including Kwaku Kwarteng (Obuasi West), Charles Forson (Tema West), Stephen Amoah (Nhyiaeso), and Lawrence Agyinsam (Hemang Lower Denkyira), picked them up on his behalf on August 5.

He enters the race as one of the early frontrunners, having secured second place behind Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in the party’s 2024 flagbearer contest.
Political analysts say his early filing is a strategic move to build momentum ahead of the primaries on January 31, 2026.
