New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer aspirant Kennedy Agyapong says there is a growing public demand for him to lead Ghana, insisting that support for his leadership goes beyond party boundaries.
Speaking after filing his nomination forms at the NPP headquarters, the former Assin Central MP claimed that ordinary Ghanaians across the country are calling on him to take up the mantle of leadership in 2028.
“In the bars, chop bars, trotro, wherever you go, in the market, Ghanaians are crying for Kennedy Agyapong to lead this country,” he stated.
Agyapong touted himself as the only aspirant with both “ideas and creativity” to secure victory for the NPP and transform the nation’s economy.
“Others say they have ideas. I have both ideas and creativity, backed by a proven track record. I have done it before, and I will continue to do it. So, if I tell you I’m going to create jobs for you, believe in me,” he said.
Highlighting his success as a businessman, he said he was best positioned to address unemployment and improve livelihoods.
“We are no more going to listen to rhetoric. We want somebody who can create businesses for the youth of this country. I always say that any human being without a job has no life. Do you want life? Then vote for Kennedy Agyapong,” he urged.
He further appealed to delegates not to succumb to intimidation from party insiders, stressing that NPP’s 2028 victory hinges on selecting a candidate who resonates with the broader Ghanaian electorate.
“Don’t listen to anybody who’ll come and intimidate you because of his own selfishness. The party’s victory is paramount. We need to come together and choose a winnable candidate who can deliver victory in 2028,” he added.
